Summary of Position

This role can be filled at either the Director or Senior Manager level.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Strategic Sourcing (or Sr Manager, Strategic Sourcing) will be responsible for development and execution of Clyde’s total procurement budget and strategy. This role will support business growth, drive profit enhancement, and mitigate supply chain risk by developing a diverse network of key suppliers, applying innovative negotiation strategies, and implementing disciplines and best practices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Establish highly collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders to support organizational procurement goals and objectives including new production innovation and supply chain sustainability.
  • Develop and execute long term and annual procurement strategies setting and achieving cost saving targets supporting annual operating plan.
  • Conduct on-going analysis of procurement activities across various spend categories to find opportunities for cost savings and value creation.
  • Evaluate, develop, and grow framework of strategic supplier relationships to optimize cost structure and mitigate risk.
  • Implement supplier relationship management programs including new supplier on-boarding, supplier sustainability assessments, scorecards, strategy, supplier performance reviews, monthly order compliance and supplier exits.
  • Conduct supply risk analysis and develop risk mitigation and crisis management plans with critical suppliers.
  • Forecast price and market trends, establish business relevant KPIs, track PPV and provide performance updates to leadership.
  • Establish sourcing and procurement processes and best practices, develop SOPs, and implement organizational disciplines.
  • Prepare bid requests, analyze, and summarize results for review and approval, negotiate pricing contracts.
  • Complies with all Food Safety Requirements including GMPs when in production areas and reports all food safety or quality issues to supervisor or Food Safety department.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in quantitative modeling and advanced EXCEL skills.
  • 8-10 years’ procurement experience with responsibility for primary raw material streams.
  • Experience developing and implementing successful strategic sourcing programs and practices.
  • Experience sourcing from overseas vendors.
  • Experience with complex contract negotiation.
  • Strong track record of delivering cost savings.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred But Not Required

  • MBA or master’s degree in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Experience sourcing services, food commodities and ingredients, packaging with knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Experience with Value Analysis and Value Engineering.
  • Experience with commodity hedging.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement.
