MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR (3RD SHIFT)

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will operate with a high initiative, continuous improvement approach and execute reliability, maintenance, and repair activities for production equipment, building and grounds to ensure maximum operational productivity and efficiencies are achieved, and assets are maintained. This is a hands-on position requiring a high degree of technical expertise. Along with the Maintenance Manager and other maintenance management team members, the Maintenance Supervisor will be directly involved in performing CAPX projects, PM, and repair work, as needed, to train and supplement the team.

  • Location: 85W Army Trail Road, Glendale Heights (Start Up Location, 2023)

    Shift: 3rd Shift 10:00pm to 6:30AM

    Overtime: Voluntary OT is available

    Work Schedule: 5 Day Work Week, we will make an effort to schedule consecutively if desired (One weekend day)

    Tool Allowance: $1,000 annual allowance paid out quarterly

    Call In Premium: Minimum of 4 hours pay, plus an additional $150.00

    Weekend Workday Bonus: $75 bonus credit for each Saturday or Sunday you work, paid out annually.

    Sign-on Bonus: $3,000

Essential Job Functions

  • Instill a team culture committed to safety, excellence, proactivity, continuous improvement, and creative, cost-conscious problem solving. Manage the team by interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conduct person-specific skills training to increase the bandwidth of the team. Further Clyde’s promote-from-within developmental program to create a pipeline of maintenance professionals to support future growth.
  • With Maintenance Manager, oversee assignment and execution of daily PM and M&R projects for production equipment, physical plant, building and grounds according to plans, time and budget achieving or exceeding KPIs.
  • Closely control monthly maintenance spending in support of Clyde’s “cost conscious culture”.
  • Strongly support Clyde’s Safety Program 2.0 reboot.
  • Conduct consistent and disciplined review of KPIs. Promptly investigate shortfalls and analyze ways to improve plant operations and OEE while stabilizing improvements.
  • Act as technical expert, trainer, and consultant for team to optimize troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ensure the maintenance team is well trained and compliant with food safety requirements, quality assurance concepts and GMPs in the performance of their work.
  • Evaluate, improve, and sustain a highly responsive maintenance request program.
  • Maintain clean, organized maintenance shop and parts room exercising careful oversight over equipment, inventory and supplies.
  • Master Company policies, procedures and cultural norms. Hold team accountable for compliance with the letter and spirit of these requirements while acting as a role model and coach.
  • Complies with all Food Safety Requirements including GMPs when in production areas and reports all food safety or quality issues to supervisor or Food Safety department.

Qualifications

Must Have Requirements

  • Minimum (7) years industrial maintenance experience with at least (2) years in management.
  • In depth technical knowledge and strong practical experience in mechanical, fabrication, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics and controls, and trouble shooting.
  • Demonstrated experience building and training a maintenance team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with predictive and preventative maintenance programs, computerized maintenance management systems.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or similarly relevant technical discipline or some combination of equivalent education, training and experience including an associate's degree in an Engineering or technical discipline.
  • Food Processing Experience
  • Knowledge and practical experience in LEAN.
  • Knowledge of maintenance best practices in the industry
  • Strong intermediate to advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • EHS experience.
